And you think Myrtle Beach is just golf, golf, golf?

Wrong. In this episode of Traveling Golfer At The Turn, you see food, fun, and nightlife that goes along with your Myrtle Beach Golf Stay.

Executive Producer Dustin Gilder anchors this Myrtle Beach fest from the new Traveling Golfer virtual set.

He’s Never Had…?

Plus, Dustin reveals some foodie firsts for himself as well.
And let’s be honest, years ago the culinary reputation of Myrtle Beach was fried food — with emphasis on fried.
That has changed dramatically over the past 10 years. Myrtle Beach alone has 1,500 restaurants as more visitors and residents descend on the Grand Strand looking for more gourmet.
As Dustin says, Myrtle Beach could be a golf and culinary capitol.

Let’s get salty

One person who has drawn people to the grand Strand is the Salty Golfer.
Wes Loman is the Salty Golfer. For years he has been drawing people around the world to hit the courses down here.
Wes introduces us to his beer, the Salty Golfer Pineapple Blonde. It’s a light golden ale with a little fruit. It’s perfect for a hot afternoon in the Carolina sun.
Next, Dustin takes his dad, Jeff Gilder, and the Myrtle Beach, Golf trails, AJ, Gohil, to River Oaks golf course.
This is another, classic Parkland style golf course that is one of the friendliest courses on the Myrtle Beach Golf Trail

Dogs on the porch

One reason is it’s outdoor restaurant. You can overlook the course while enjoying one of their incredible hot dogs.
Dustin, Jeff, and AJ also enjoy a Yeungling Beer as they talk about the first class service at River Oaks. As AJ says, you feel like your family here.“ In addition, River Oaks has put a lot of money into the course to keep up. It’s perfect greens and fairways.
OK, so you’re probably wondering where is all this gourmet food?

Boardwalk Billy’s For Everyone

Here we go. We stop off at Boardwalk, Billy’s, which is on the water in North Myrtle Beach. This is a family, friendly, restaurant with incredible views.
There are plenty of outdoor activities for the kids while also offering a ton of televisions so you can watch the latest game while enjoying a great meal. They also have live entertainment. Make sure to check out their band schedule online first.

Ribs and Sushi

The range of food is fabulous. You can get ribs and they have a raw bar which has some of the most delectable sushi in the area.
Our gobbling trio also offers another shout out to Yuengling beer by trying their chocolate flavored beer. They say you need to try it.
Also understand that Boardwalk Billy’s takes no reservations. As Dustin says, “ from 6 to 8 prepare to wait.”
Next, Dustin and the gang hit 3001 Nightlife. This is an eclectic night club that is full of energy, food, and drink.

Show off your Travolta Steps

3001 Nightlife has live music, as well as DJs. You actually get your choice of three different clubs so you can enjoy music from different eras and different styles — including dance tunes from the disco 70s, 80s, 90s, Country and Beach music.
Know if you want that elegant sit down dinner with a gourmet feast, then you need to hit Thoroughbreds Chophouse.
This is considered the best fine dining in Myrtle Beach.

Race to gourmet meats

One reason is because they change their menus on a regular basis to capture local food trends and the locally grown and native foods.
Traveling Golfer Host Tony Leadora makes a surprise appearance at dinner in one of Thoroughbreds six dining rooms.
Meanwhile, Dustin, Jeff, and AJ. feast in the bar area.
This is a great spot to relax after a round of golf to enjoy some televised sports and just indulge in some incredible tasting dishes.
Dustin indulges for the first time on two of Thoroughbreds specialties.
First is the raw oysters.
Next, he samples the lollipop lamb chops.
How did he like them? You need to see for yourself.
We warn you. You will get hungry.
Trust us.  We’re foodies.
