It’s no longer a secret.  Brunswick County is not just the fastest growing counties in North Carolina – but in the country.  It’s loaded with 5 islands to enjoy along the shoreline with 30 championship golf courses.

So, we warn you after you come here for golf – after watching Tony’s tour of Brunswick County – you may find yourself wanting to move here.

And why not?

You May Want To Move Here

Besides the incredible golf courses and islands to enjoy, the region has loads of space for new housing.  (I may have to amend that statement soon once all of you see the development here and move here.)

The weather is ideal.  You can play golf year-round.  Granted, December and January remind you of Scotland and Ireland, but those times are still playable.

You’re situated between the cities of Myrtle Beach, SC and Wilmington, NC so you have two bustling hubs to visit, if you want, but you don’t need to live there.

Businesses are moving here with jobs.

A lot of the attraction in Brunswick County is golf – that feeds the rest of the tourism economy as well as the re-location boom.

And Tony and the crew on Traveling Golfer show it to you brilliantly.

Golf Courses Galore

You get to see dozens of courses you will want to play.  You can play Parkland Style courses with tons of trees bordering the fairways.  You can also play ocean style courses along the Intracoastal and local rivers that make golf a challenge and a feast for the eyes.

Ocean Ridge in Ocean Isle Beach has 4 great courses and now they are beginning to expand sales.

The Pearl with the always insightful and funny Trey Ernstes is a 27 hole extravaganza, along with great food.  In fact, Coordinating Producer AJ Gohil sits down with Tony and enjoys a golf gourmet lunch at The Pearl with barbecue and chicken wings that are out of this world replacing the old style hot dog and beer.

AJ also plays the iconic Pearl West 7th hole, a par 5 that runs along the Calabash River.  AJ plays it well, despite the putts.  But Chase McGraw, of Coastal Golfaway, goes for an eagle on this incredible hole.

Carolina National, a Freddie Couples design, is another featured course you need to play.

And, of course, you must play Rivers Edge, the famous Arnold Palmer design, with the toughest hole in golf, the par-5 9th hole called Arnie’s Revenge.

Sunset Beach is another mecca, home to Sea Trail with three incredible golf courses and places to stay and never leave.

Take a look at Bald Head Island with great courses and no cars – just golf carts.

As far as golf goes, that is just scratching the surface.  Hey, it’s a 30 minute show.  Tony would have to do a 3-hour movie to get all the courses in.

Brunswick Aint Just Golf; It’s Gourmet Too

Gourmet is also a lure in Brunswick County.  And that has boomed in the past 10 years.  There are so many places to hit with excellent cuisine that, again, Tony would never have enough time to cover.

You must hit The Ocean Isle Fish Company in Ocean Isle Beach.  Can’t catch a birdie on the course? Then try a charter and hook a filet.  OIB Fish Company can get you out on the ocean to enjoy another staple of Brunswick living while bringing in a fresh catch for your dinner.

But don’t go fishing without hitting the OIB Fish Company restaurant which has the greatest sushi in the region. (In fact, my show Undercover Jetsetter will have a segment on the incredible sushi dishes from OIB Fish Company.) You may want to order some dishes atop OIB Fish Company on their Tiki Bar on the top floor and enjoy the ecstasy on your palate and your eyes.

You love beer?  How about some locally brewed styles at Makai Brewing Company, also in Ocean Isle Beach, that has great nights with music and trivia nights.

Don’t pass up Calabash. It’s Brunswick’s Seafood Capitol with its own style of cooking with fried flounder and shrimp served with hush puppies.
