Fifteen years ago, Traveling Golfer set out with a simple idea: take readers, then listener, then viewers to the courses, the destinations, and the people that make golf travel worth talking about. What started as a single article has grown into something bigger than any one episode — and this year, we’re marking that anniversary the only way that felt right: by launching a whole new way to tell these stories.
Introducing Traveling Golfer 15 for 15 — a new ongoing series built around the number 15, in honor of our 15th anniversary. Instead of one long list, think of it as a format we’ll apply again and again: 15 best courses on a trail, 15 best 19th-hole bars, 15 tips from touring pros, 15 must-try restaurants in a destination, 15 hidden-gem stops on a road trip, and more. If it’s worth ranking, worth recommending, or worth knowing before you go, there’s a 15 for 15 in it.
Why 15 for 15
Fifteen years of Traveling Golfer means fifteen years of head pros walking us through their signature holes, tourism directors making the case for their hometown fairways, bartenders pouring the drink every regular orders, and viewers telling us where we should go next. There’s far more of that material than any single list could hold — so rather than force fifteen years into fifteen stories, we’re building a recurring format that can go anywhere the show has been and everywhere it’s headed: courses, destinations, restaurants, bars, pros, playing tips, gear, you name it.
What to Expect
Each 15 for 15 installment will zero in on one theme — 15 best something, in one place or across a region — told with the same on-the-ground reporting and real conversations viewers already know from Traveling Golfer. Some installments will be course-focused, some destination-focused, some purely practical (tips, gear, trip-planning advice). All of them will be built around the same idea: real recommendations, from the people who actually know.
A New Chapter, Built on the Same Idea
Fifteen years ago, this idea started because we believed golf travel deserved better storytelling — not just course rankings and yardage, but the actual experience of getting there, playing it, and everything that surrounds the round. 15 for 15 is our anniversary present to the audience that’s stuck with us through that whole run, and a reintroduction for anyone discovering Traveling Golfer for the first time.
Keep watching TravelingGolfer.tv over the coming weeks and months as the series rolls out — new 15 for 15 installments will post regularly, each one a fresh angle on the game and the places we play it. Here’s to fifteen years, and everything still left to rank.
